I have been to Jack Astor's only a few times, and both times the service was great! The atmosphere was also great, very fun, and exciting. You get crayons to colour on the tables and there are funny quotes around the restaurant. My only problem is that when I ordered my food which was a very simple order, it was wrong. My caesar salad had carrots in it and no croutons! Although the food is great and mistakes are made, it is just inconvenient. Aside from the mistakes, it is a great place to go to just hang out with friends, and have a drink or 2. The servers and waitresses are very kind, and they are always on top of everything. The restaurant is also never a mess, I never seen anything even left on the tables when another customer leaves, they are on top of it all right away which is really good. Lire plus

This place is hit and miss. Depending on what day it is will be the final judgement. A lot of kids visit this bar late at night and during Wednesday when they have the 12 for 12 draft special on. The place is packed and generally fights break out. Any other time during the week is a good time to be there. The beer is always cold and the food is quite good. The Pizza is fantastic along with the Nacho platter. The price is expensive but you do get good portions. Every time I step into the place, there is new staff hired. Lire plus

The order bar is at the front door. Lots of warm colours with smiling faces that are always patient and help full. For those that can't make up their minds your not hurried or rushed to make purchases. There are exceptions of course. The atmosphere is roomy, with enough space between tables for privacy. If your order is not ready at purchase point then the staff will bring it to you with out the feeling that you need to tip again if you did. Great seating with leather couches. Chairs and tables are far enough apart to have reasonably private conversation. The patio is overlooking the Bay. Hope that you like birds. Parking is walking distance or one minute from entrance. I liked that you are left alone, you don't have to be on your game, you can be friendly or not, depending on the person. Lire plus

Food is typical pub fare; generous helping for a good price. they have good drink special especially on thurs and sundays. the atmosphere really depends on the night: I've been there during the week when it was really mellow, and then the weekends get crazy busy! I visited last night for the first time for a friends birthday party I have to say the atmosphere was very nice the food was good the only downfall being a disabled person is with the washrooms be in downstairs.
